After owning several boats, I've come to understand that there's a level of "know how" in the fiberglass business that is a combination of engineering + art. Kevin and his son Paul did a fabulous job on reparing a deep scratch on my bass boat. It has 3 different colors of metal flake fiberglass that they restored to look as good as new. My wife and I love our boat but we had a chronic stress cracking issue. We took our boat to Kevin Horn at American Boat Works to diagnose and fix our problems. He met us on a Saturday morning, which we really appreciated. He has the technology to see between decks and diagnose problems. He suggested a fix and price that we considered very fair.

I don’t think we appreciated the amount of work associated with changing a console but Kevin and Paul worked diligently to complete the project and ensure that everything worked properly. One way to know the quality of a business is to know how they treat people. I needed an estimate for fiberglass repair and the team at ABW went above and beyond. They helped me navigate the insurance process which took a few weeks to resolve. They offered to allow me to store my ski at the shop while I worked through the process. This was a huge weight off my shoulders as I didn’t have any place to store it at the time. At every step ABW showed a genuine desire to help. You can tell this team takes pride in their work, they are honest, and they care about their customers. I would not hesitate to recommend this company to anyone looking for fiberglass repair work.
Being from out of state and not knowing who I should take my boat to for a gunwale repair, I did what most seem to do these days, a Google search. After reading the excellent reviews on American Boat Works, I decided to stop by and meet with them personally to discuss what I needed.
I spoke with Kevin the owner and his son Paul and was completely impressed with their knowledge of fiberglass repair as well as the work I had already seen they had performed on other boats. But equally important, I knew I had met two honest businessmen just through conversation.
Kevin and Paul patiently took the time to walk me through the repair process step by step as well as explain to me how it would all be handled with my insurance company. Afterwards, I was convinced these were the pro's I wanted to work on my boat.
I got my boat back on schedule as promised and I was 100% satisfied. It was a beautiful fix and as far as I'm concerned their quality work is second to none. The materials and craftsmanship they put into my fix was better than factory standards and they backed their work up with a guarantee as solid as the repair they had made.

I will start out by saying, I do not leave a lot of reviews often. But these guys were so amazing I just had to leave a review. I contacted them because I thought I had a serious problem with my Grady White hull. I discovered what I thought was a problem on Friday and needless to say I did not sleep all weekend. I called first thing Monday morning. They arranged to take a look at my boat first thing on Tuesday afternoon I was very grateful to say the least. Turns out there was no problem and all.
