I had such a great experience with my dental cleaning and exam! The office is very clean, organized and welcoming. The doctor is extremely nice and explains everything with care. Kristen did an amazing job with the cleaning — very thorough but comfortable at the same time. And the front desk Anna is absolutely wonderful — friendly, helpful, and made the whole check-in and insurance process so easy. I truly felt taken care of from the moment I walked in until the moment I left. Highly recommend this office!

I had such a great experience getting my veneers done! From the consultation to the final appointment, the dentist was very patient, gentle, and explained every step to me — no rushing. The color and shape came out so natural! The entire staff was friendly and made me feel super comfortable. I love my new smile. I would definitely recommend this office to anyone considering veneers!

I had a same-day crown appointment with Dr. Max Ruzanov, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the wonderful care I received. Making the appointment was so easy, and Anna was incredibly helpful! Dr. Ruzanov and his entire team were excellent. Professional, kind, and very attentive throughout the whole process. Dr. Max explained every step clearly. My two girls, ages 5 and 3, went to see Dr. Maks and his dental hygienist, Kristin — and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience! We can’t say enough about how amazing Dr. Max and his office is! My wife’s front crown fell off. They worked her in asap, within 2 hours they had painlessly and perfectly replaced it! If compassion and excellence are what you’re looking for-Dr. Max and his team are it! We are thankful!

I drive in from Lakewood Ranch because of the trustworthiness of Dr. Maks and his staff. His craftsmanship is excellent, and his approach is always conservative only doing what is necessary. That can be hard to find these days. He has filled a cavity, done two crowns, and Invisalign and it all turned out 10/10. Highly recommend.

Great experience from the moment I walked in the door. I am typically not a fan of going to the dentist, but Dr. Maks and his team made the process smooth and painless. The office was clean and welcoming. Hygienist Kristin put me at ease, telling me everything she was doing. She was professional, friendly, and most of all she did an amazing job with my sensitive teeth. Dr. Maks was professional and knowledgeable; he used state of the art technology to make the visit comfortable and helped ease my tooth sensitivity right on the spot, as well as providing suggestions for continued improvement. I highly recommend Island Dental Spa! Looking forward to my next visit in 6 months.

My wife and I have been visiting Dr. de la Riva since 2013 and he is a terrific dentist. He cares about his patients and has quickly accommodated us for emergency procedures (i.e. outside of business hours) more than once. He's also practices state-of-the-art dentistry regarding pain management and the technology he uses. Rather than investing in a Ferrari (!) he has 3D imaging systems and computerized milling equipment that can create a perfect crown or tooth in a matter of hours rather than days (what they used to take). I'm attaching a couple pix. Bottom line is that this is a dentist who cares about his patients and is worth a drive. I live about 45 minutes away and I'm happy to make the trip to Anna Maria Island to see him.

I can’t give this office enough stars. I’ve had dental issues my entire life and had some really rough experiences. But, Island Dental Spa is top notch. I had a crown yesterday with zero complaints. Office staff is great. The dentist made sure I was ok throughout the entire process. And seriously, no pain! I felt completely back to normal within thirty minutes after my procedure. And my permanent crown was made in office within an hour! I’m so thankful!

Dr. Maks is an exceptional dentist! It was my first time needing a crown, and I had a really bad fracture in my back molar. But Dr. Maks was able to restore it beautifully. He walked me through every step of the process, using his advanced scanner and milling machine (I believe that’s the correct term) to create the crown on the same day. He even gave me a quick tour of the entire process, which I thought was fascinating. What stood out the most was his attentiveness and attention to detail—he wasn’t rushing between multiple patients like I’ve seen at other practices. Dr. Maks even showed me a cavity I had with both the X-ray and with his scanner, zooming in to give me a close-up view. I can’t praise him enough for his skill, gentleness, and how pain free it was. The numbing process was completely comfortable. Highly recommend!

I have to start by saying, I do not ever leave reviews. But my experience at Island Dental Spa has far exceeded any expectations I had and deserves way more recognition than this review. They really get every detail right…parking is convenient, the office is welcoming and well maintained (seriously, it even smells great), scheduling and communication are done with ease, and the entire staff is obviously well qualified and great at what they do—always making for a pleasant experience. But if you’re looking for a truly exceptional dentist, Dr. Maks is bar none. Not only is he an extremely skilled dentist who pays great attention to detail, he is genuinely compassionate and kind. Even when you’re sure there’s no way you could be, he makes you feel at ease. He is incredibly gentle and takes great care to ensure you are not in pain. You could not ask for a better dentist. These people are more than a great dentist’s office—they are great humans.

Dr. Maks is hands down the best dentist I’ve ever visited. He’s incredibly thorough, attentive, and highly skilled. The office is modern, well-maintained, and equipped with cutting-edge technology, and the staff is both professional and friendly. I had an old crown replaced in just one two-hour visit. Dr. Maks uses a 3D scanner and an in-office crown-making machine, so there’s no need to order from a lab or wait days for it to be made. Overall, it was an outstanding experience!

By far my best experience at the dentist, and I've had many dentist, in Cuba and in the U.S. I got my crown done here and the experience was actually joyful and relaxing, the doctor makes sure you are comfortable and relaxed and explains everything before doing the procedures. No pain whatsoever while he did my crown and it's same day crown. I'm thankful that the permanent crown was on the same day and very beautiful. He has an incredible amount of technology and state of the art equipment which made it possible for him to make the crown himself. I've recommended my family to him.

I went to see Island Dental Spa today, and Dr. Ruzanov was absolutely wonderful. The office was the state of the art with high tech equipment. He listened, took an X-ray and explained what he thought was wrong. He provided me with a prescription to help my infection, until I can get back home to see an Endondontist. If I lived here in Florida I would definitely make Dr. M. Ruzanov of Island Dental Spa my dentist. He was outstanding. It was a great experience.
