After reading other mothers frustrations and having my own, I will not be returning here and I would suggest the same for any mother that actually wants good care. In short: I was not told about what I was signing (as to why I signed a form that didn't apply to me but was given to me), I was not informed on the amount of blood being taken, I waited a long time just to have a rushed and useless appointment I still have to pay for. Did not receive a water until well after I needed it. On top of a drug test I only learned about when I received the results back. And also fried pickles...... I would've preferred a better experience. Thankfully for myself I'm leaving the state and will not have to come back to this place, but otherwise I'd be finding a new doctor. Wait time was horrible but I can get over that. The MA came in asked me a few questions, made me sign an unneeded form and gave me a packet to sign, seemed general. She took my vitals and was out the door. She returned I think I signed something else, and she told me that I'd be drawn blood and asked if I had any water. I'm 9 weeks, if I drink in the morning it comes right back up, I opted for a water. I never received it... Then after 45-60 minutes my doctor comes in, talking very fast the whole time, I get it, behind schedule just trying to run through the motions. All information given both spoken and in the pamphlet were nothing new to anyone that has basic internet. I could have asked more questions but again fast paced conversation and I'm given a better response by an app at this rate. I was explained (apparently current) and future tests options. Next was being sent to the next room. For my blood drawn. I asked the woman, are you going to be taking a lot of blood, I've had panic attacks since young over many different things but needles and blood freak me out. She gave me a very glazed over confused yes. And began. She took 10 units of blood and painfully pushed the needle in more after each tube. And as I sit there to calm down as I'm not even 100% sure on what tests were even being down as the conversation with my doctor was a quick catch all. That was more blood drawn then any test I had before. At this point I was given a water. As the woman's fellow coworkers barge in laughing asking her if she wants anything for lunch. Fried pickles. I'm a 20 year old, first time mom. I never really had insurance as a child so Ive only been to the doctor for a real opt in appointment not forced by the schools a few times within the last year. I trusted that I'd be well informed by my MA and Doctor. Taken care of especially in a time like this where I'm not just an individual. Big let down. And gave me an anxiety filled week. As. I hate getting my blood drawn. That was extremely uncomfortable for me to walk into with no prior preparation. I keep looking over documents trying to see if I missed something, and I didn't. They did! Shame of their staff. Truly.

No direct contact with actual office staff, they use overseas customer service. They cant help you being that they read from a script and some words are lost in translation because you cant understand each other adding and adds confusion to eldery patients as well. they want you to do do everything via my chart also. I rather book a quick virtual appointment with a urgent care then deal with this cloen show that evara health has made out of community centers of Pinellas!

(This review is for women’s health only. Before I became pregnant, I was happy with my PCP at Evara.) When I became pregnant, the quality of care dropped dramatically because the OBGYN group are separate and have their own standards of patient care. Mainly, they have the excuse of “that’s normal in pregnancy” to not have to treat anything. Even if the condition existed before pregnancy, they blame it on the pregnancy and couldn’t care less. Example, I’m tired and my hair is falling out and go to my PCP. They test my thyroid, iron, vitamin D levels, electrolytes, B vitamins, etc. if I go to an Evara women’s health OB, they say “being tired is normal in pregnancy. I’m done with you.” By the way I actually had hypothyroid myxedema, which can result in coma and death if untreated. Luckily I went somewhere else. Also when I go to specialists they’re surprised that the women’s health doctors at Evara didn’t review and adjust my medications for pregnancy. They just don’t care. They only need to confirm I’m still pregnant to get paid. So they do the urine test and the doppler, and then they’re done with me. The outcome of my pregnancy doesn’t affect their payments. They gave me flu vaccine that contains mercury-based preservative at the pregnancy clinic. Most modern healthcare providers use preservative free flu vaccine now, especially for pregnant women. I didn't even ask them thinking I was safe at a pregnancy clinic from unnecessarily exposing my fetus to 25 mcg mercury in the thimerosal preservative. Pregnant women are advised to avoid all mercury-containing products, and preservative free flu vaccine is the norm now. No amount of mercury is considered safe. I don't understand what is wrong with this system that they are so behind. Just one example, wish it was the only one. The only thing I can do is try to warn people about this business. If you are going to the pregnancy clinic with Medicaid, try to qualify as “high risk” at Bayfront or BayCare. Then you can be seen by a much better healthcare system. I have a high risk pregnancy and Evara wouldn’t refer me out no matter how many times I asked, and different doctors, too. Which was really weird. I was able to contact Bayfront myself and they qualified me saying I don’t need a referral. That’s the 700 6th St S, St. Petersburg, FL 33701 Bayfront OBGYN office. Additionally, my insurance was able to refer me to Women’s Care.
