We were looking for a way to create a shaded area within the cage around our lanai. Blinds & Designs suggested retractable shades attached to the cage, took the necessary measurements and installed the shades and they are giving us the shade we hoped for. They were able to do the install despite part of the area for installation overlooking our pool with not enough space for a ladder or step stool, but they were ingenious and did the install with no problem. We are very pleased with the result and highly recommend them. See photos showing the shades down and also when retracted. You can’t even see them when they’re retracted.

One of several quotes we requested was from B&D. We felt they had the quality we wanted for the price, but not the lowest quote. We paid half down, with B&D storing for us when we were ready. They contacted us (amazing) several times to schedule when WE were ready for the install. Tom arrived promptly and started work immediately. Install was professional and considerate of our property. Overall an outstanding experience, especially with installer and the support staff. Highly recommend these guys.

We are very pleased with the work done by Blinds and Designs. We had plantation shutters installed on all windows and fabric vertical blinds across our lanai doors. Steve came by to give us the initial quote and talk through options with us and they were competitive. When we decided to go with them, Steve came back to measure and review the order in detail, so that we could make any changes before the order was placed. Kevin and Michael did the installation and did have to return on another day, as they did not have the whole order (new person in the office had thought everything had come in). They apologized and returned as soon as the rest of the order came in - wasn’t a big deal to us and honest mistake by a new team member, which happens. Thrilled with the new window treatments and a pleasure doing business with Blinds and Designs.

Review for Blinds and Designs of Sarasota I recently hired Blinds and Designs of Sarasota to replace a Hunter-Douglas Duette® honeycomb shade in a new townhome at 949 N Osprey Avenue, Sarasota, FL. This was a replacement of a shades the same vendor installed in March 2023 which was damaged during subsequent repair activities by my General Contractor. The replacement was installed on August 18, 2024, with a payment of $180.25 promptly made by my General Contractor after installation. Upon accepting a buyer's offer on the townhome in mid-October, the buyer’s inspector flagged an issue with the shade—it was too wide, binding on both sides, and therefore didn’t fit the window properly. Following the inspector’s comments, I contacted the vendor on October 29, 2024, requesting a repair, which I regarded as a callback for a faulty installation in August. A technician was sent out the following day to evaluate the issue and agreed the shade was too wide. At that time, I reiterated that this should be considered a callback, and the technician indicated the decision on any additional charges would be up to management. The next day, the vendor informed me that the shade had been cut to the correct width and was ready for reinstallation. When the technicians arrived, they reinstalled the shade, which then operated smoothly, resolving the issue. However, I was then informed of a $110 fee for the two site visits—a charge I was not previously notified of. I expressed to the technicians that I found the fee a bit taxing given the nature of the repair, but in the interest of completing the townhome sale, I reluctantly agreed to pay. After paying by credit card, I received a service invoice showing the cut-down repair was free of charge, with the two service visits jointly billed at $110. Only upon reviewing the the final invoice did I see a small-print policy statement indicating “30-day Warranty on work performed. Additional service fee will occur thereafter.” I wish I had been informed of this policy before the repair and service, as prior notice would have set a clearer expectation and allowed me to make a more informed decision. The technicians themselves were both professional and courteous, and I tipped them personally. However, given the lack of transparency around these charges and the fact that the August installation was not correctly fitted, I am disappointed with the handling of this situation. I request that management consider this feedback and subsequently discussed the matter with the vendor's management representative. Based on this discussion, I've slightly modified my review, and now consider the matter closed.

How awesome were the guys that installed my verticals on my sliding glass doors. I’m 76 and so many times an installer thinks she is old we don’t have worry if we please her. Not the case with them.
