It is bad enough when you work hard and don't have time to take your boat out, but it is even worse when you spend that hard earned money on a marine mechanic who is not trained, let alone able to be a business man with integrity and take responsibility for his mistakes. Let me introduce you to the owner, Mr. Clancy at Walden Marine. A marine mechanic who so called fixed our starboard heat exchanger and forgot to tighten up the clamps on the hose. The day we finally get to take the boat out, it overheats because the hose came off and also the shaft seal tears because there is no water cooling it causing it to turn with the shaft and split (per the shaft seal manufacturer). The boat started taking on water, and luckily, we had some people on the dock patch it up enough to make it to a hoist without sinking. Clancy immediately went down to see his mistake he had made and made excuses such as a fishing hook could have caused the split in the seal. He also states he secured the hose onto the heat exchanger at that time but never did again. Then, to be told good luck while being towed. Do not waste your time and money on this company as he will set you back far and leave you without your boat operating for months talking about how he is going on vacation for a month. Then, he states it was a nightmare working on my boat because he is too fat. Seems to me that if you can't do the job, you shouldn't have even tried to. I will update this review with the court case once it is filed so the Tampa boating network can see and know the truth about this company.
I brought him a 2004 Sea Ray that needed a gimbal bearing set, speedo pitot tube installation, full lower service and shift cable adjustment. Dropped boat with him late Friday evening with a box of parts and a list of items to look over, Clansey powered through it over Easter weekend. He invited me to accompany him during a complete sea trial which went without a hitch, boat was flawless. I couldn't be more happy. Then he delivered 1 more surprise. Not only did he bring my boat back to life he did it on-time and under budget. He delivers in all aspects of the job.

Tampa boating network: please do more research on boat mechanics before hiring them. Zero stars! My husband and I have been without our boat for 3 months now due to the negligence of this company. He will first give you a low estimate and then start the job and raise the price up as he goes. We paid this company thousands of dollars and now owe thousands more due to the damage he caused to the boat. The boat almost sunk in the Bay.

He did a repair on my boats engine auto flush system. Clancy Pointed out some other minor up keep items and he didnt charge more to help out. I would recommend Walden Marine and I plan on using them in the future.
Clance is top notch! He is a superb boat mechanic, and is phenomenal at communicating and accessible when something goes wrong (as it inevtiably will). I have used him over and over again and cannot recommend him enough. worked out a time/ date to come by my dock. Mr. Walden
showed up when he said he would, ready to work, with the proper tools. ( not always the case when dealing with some independent businesses). Got my bilge pump working and reattached accessory wiring that others didnβt seem to be able to figure out. Spent some time talking with this young man. He loves boats and really enjoys working on them.. His pricing is honest and I will be asking him for assistance
as things come up in the future ( they always do with boats).

Called another mechanic, told me they had to cut my "frozen" prop off and tow my boat to their shop. Called Walden Marine, they got it off, got it fixed, got her done, right in the Marina....
