I love their groomer Alyssa for my two cats.. she did a great job and what they needed!! I also shop here regularly and they have friendly staff and what I need.
If you just want "good" service, this is not the place for you. If you want the best service then stop by Max's Pet. Took my Aussie there on the wrong appointment day, long story, but they took him anyways. Gabriel was very friendly and helpful. My pup was a little bit upset and nervous but after some amazing understanding from the staff he was right at home. Fantastic haircut, just the way I like it. He looks so fresh and so clean, clean. Highly recommended.
I love my animals. No other pet food store understands that more than Max’s. Misty can do no wrong. My red haired cashier is phenomenal & always greeting with a smile. Dealing with my picky eaters (Sphynx) the trials and tribulations with that & you understanding that. to include the food that they did like & disliked and the exchanges. You have far past and exceeded my expectations. I appreciate y’all. Every last one of you that I’ve encountered.
Alyssa is the best! She takes great care of our dog, Finn, and he always looks great after his haircut.
Our 1.5 year old Shih-poo is always groomed 5 star by Deedee!!! We love love love our groomer. The owners are great and we feel like part of the family. Will 1000% recommend!!!
This groomer was truly the best I’ve been to. Their understanding and friendly attitude made us feel so welcome. Tara gave my little Cotón boy the best haircut. Such kind people.

Squeezed me in last minute when I got my pup from board and train smelling pretty bad. The staff were so kind and gave my girl white glove treatment. Brushed her teeth, did her nails - the works! I’ll be coming back.
The service is definitely amazing I loved the way my puppy Mylo was groomed and the owner was awesome. He was so knowledgeable about everything that has to do with dogs. Including what I should feed my Mylo. Thank you guys. Will continue going here and I have told everyone what a good job the groomer does. This is where I go for all of My baby's stuff. I don’t remember the groomers name but she is great! They definitely earned a five star.

My cat has never been groomed and I took her to Kelsey. I was nervous about what to expect or how it would go and everything went smoothly and they were great at communicating and taking care or her. Definitely recommend!
Edit: After the owner’s extremely unprofessional response. You’re putting Immunocompromised dogs in an environment where you do not require any other animal to have vaccines? Putting their health at risk? There is no logic behind that. There is an extremely serious illness going around amongst dogs and you’re still allowing this? Putting them in pens together in between grooms. There are so many things wrong in this establishment. You say you’ve had no issues in the 5 years since opening. Your reviews state otherwise. Do you have a vet on staff incase of emergency? Anyone trained in animal behavior? You’re operating in a county that requires the Rabies vaccination by law. Since you’re not requiring any vaccines I would imagine you’re not checking for exemptions. As someone who works in animal control, I do hope you expect to be hearing from them soon.
They do not require any form of vaccination and put multiple dogs in pens together in between grooms. Extremely unsafe and unsanitary. Especially considering there is a serious virus spreading among dogs. It’s irresponsible and completely negligent, putting the animals in their care, safety at risk. As an establishment that’s here to cater to the needs of animals, you’re doing the exact opposite and it is disgusting.
Love Maxs Pet Salon on county line road and bruce b downs. We have been taking our senior pup for a couple of years now on a monthly basis and Alyssa is excellent with her. Highly recommended.
If your looking for a groomer this is your place! They did a fantastic a job with my pup. My pup is usually a little nervous and finding someone who will make him feel comfortable is hard but they took there time with him and had such patience. They are so nice and you can just tell they love what they do! Thank you!
I moved to Wesley Chapel and found Max’s grooming. They were very friendly, however the groomer left Cotten balls stuffed all the way down in my dogs ears. I called to speak to the manager and was told she would call me back in a few hours and nothing!!
My dog gets chronic ear infections and the only thing I was concerned about was her ears. Thank goodness she kept shaking her head or I would have never know about the Cotten balls.
We had been going to the same groomer for ten years. We started noticing a high turnover, month long waits to get in and it really upset me to know our dogs spent several hours in a crate during the grooming process. I saw a comment on Facebook and decided to give Max's a try. What a night and day difference. So I called to make a grooming appointment and bombarded them with 3 of our four dogs. Our dogs tend to be anxious so I was worried about them going somewhere new. From the moment we walked in the door it just felt so right. We were greeted (Both me and my dogs) Next thing I know the owner is sitting on the floor and loving on my babies!! Two of my dogs typically pull away from new people but they were all right there playing with him and snuggling him. Then I was nervous so I called to check on them and they gave me the whole scoop on what was going on and how they were. Then they invited me to come a little early to pick them up so I could watch them get groomed. They explained they had a two way mirror so we could see the dogs but they couldn't see us. When we got their my little guy was up on the table grooming as if he had known this groomer his whole life. The rest of my pups were happily walking around and not in a cage. It was amazing! I didn't even know such an option existed!! I can not say enough about the amazing experience we had today and we are switching for sure! This is an experience every pet owner should get to have!! % stars just isn't enough!!
**Edit based on the response from owner - Not really sure how the price difference could have been explained to me when I arrived when no one even saw my cat when I arrived as you say. Hard to tell me about an additional charge without even seeing the cat. Again, my cat was never checked while I was in the business.
I really hate giving negative reviews. The three stars are because the groomer is great. It was disappointing to see the price increase. $150 to groom my cat. It was $100 a few months ago. My bigger issue was the loose dogs in the shop. It is stressful enough for a cat to be in a place like that, but then to have a dog running up to the carrier and barking. I have dogs and love them, but I don't enjoy other people's dog's jumping up on me. They seemed to be dogs that belong to someone who works there and it is just inconsiderate to the customers to have dogs running around barking at the animals coming in and jumping up on people. It is just rude. I wish I could hire Brittany on the side because she is great, but unfortunately I won't be back.
The owner Greg, Groomer Kelsey & staff at the New Tampa location were absolutely fantastic & accommodating to get our Bichon, Snowy, an appointment on the same day that we called to book it, a Saturday none the less! Kelsey did an AMAZING job grooming Snowy & he looks awesome for the Holidays!! We’ll definitely be returning for future grooming services! Bravo to Greg & team for the outstanding customer service & pet compassion today - thank you!!

The owners care about their customers and want to make your experience superb. We previously went to the WC location. We now use this Max's Pet Market, as it is closer, and their great suggestions on food and new toys, along with their superb grooming, brings me back. The cost is comparable to big chains, but the grooming is personal and gentle, with great attention to detail. Highly recommend you give them a try!
I absolutely recommend Max’s for grooming and all your pets’ needs! Destinnie did an amazing job with my very excitable pup. They are caring, attentive, patient, and efficient/fast for the express groom. They treat your pet like their own! I will definitely be back.

Amazing store and experience from the moment we arrived and saw our pet's handwritten name on the sign outside on the sidewalk! The store is filled with fantastic products. Very friendly and engaged owners who are very attentive to customers and most importantly the pets. Very clean as well. The staff is also great, especially our groomer Kelsey who we can't say enough about!
So let me start by saying that not only did they not remember my dogs appt even after they text and called me to see if I wanted to go in early because of a cancellation it took them 5 hrs to groom my dog when last time it took them 2 hrs and I was told they were busy and short staffed. Then to top it off a week later my dog kept itching so we didn’t see anything until we bathed her and saw her full of fleas. Shes a house dog and for the 3 yrs of her life she’s never had fleas. We are still fighting these fleas at the pet dr. For my dog. This was the second time I brought her and the first time was perfect this time was HORRIBLE. I will never recommend or bring her back. They need to get it together!!!

Wildly overpriced. Was charged $105 for a 9 lb poodle cut. Groomer told me before hand that she wasn’t matted but they still added the charge at pick up. Many other local groomers do the same job for $60. One and done for us
They always get us in for a kitty nail trim on the fly since I’m irresponsible and don’t just schedule it. They’re kind as can be, and quick to the service. Clean store too!
